Great Lakes Ports and Shipyards Forge New Partnership

The American Great Lakes Ports Association (AGLPA) today announced a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Great Lakes Alliance of Shipyards (GLAS), bringing together leading organizations representing Great Lakes ports and American shipyards around shared priorities in domestic shipbuilding, commerce, workforce development, infrastructure, and federal policy. The agreement was signed on Friday, July 31, 2026, during AGLPA’s 2026 Annual Conference in Chicago.

2024 Policy Agenda Released

On March 18, the American Great Lakes Ports Association released a policy agenda for 2024. These issues will guide the organization’s advocacy efforts with Members of Congress and federal agencies.
