Port of Toledo

More Than a Port — Ohio’s Leader in Economic Development

Established as the first port authority in the State of Ohio, The Port of Toledo is a global gateway in the heart of the Midwest. Compared to other ports on the East Coast and Gulf Coast, the Port of Toledo is closer to many major European ports, connecting Northwest Ohio’s manufacturing and agricultural industries to international markets.

The Port provides easy access to Class I railroads and interstates and serves as a critical link in the St. Lawrence Seaway System. In addition, the Port of Toledo values environmental stewardship and the Toledo Harbor ecosystem, partnering with state and federal agencies to monitor dredging and spearhead restoration projects.

Toledo’s Seaport

The Port of Toledo, a key port funneling diverse cargo on the St. Lawrence Seaway System, lives where the Maumee River meets Lake Erie at the far western basin.

The Port of Toledo Impact

The Port of Toledo strives to develop expertise and assets that grow the Northwest Ohio region’s transportation and logistics infrastructure. Building a robust infrastructure for maritime operations, the Port supports economic prosperity for its community and surrounding areas.
