Port of Erie

Pennsylvania’s Connection to the Great Lakes

The Port of Erie is Pennsylvania’s sole commercial port connected to the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway. Offering valuable connections between the Tri-State Area, rail and interstates, the Great Lakes and the global market, the Port moves everything from bulk materials to massive project cargo.

Under the Erie-Western Pennsylvania Port Authority, the Port prioritizes both industrial capabilities — including one of the Great Lakes’ largest dry docks — and public recreation spaces, like Dobbins Landing and the Liberty Park-Rebich Investments amphitheater.

Pennsylvania’s Only Great Lake Port

Located on the natural Presque Isle Bay on the southeast shore of Lake Erie, the Port of Erie serves a massive population within its 500 mile radius and supports several key industries.

The Port of Erie Impact

The Port of Erie invests in water-based innovation to create new jobs and build a resilient Great Lakes region. It remains a competitive hub for maritime trade while enhancing quality of life for both residents and visitors.
